Visitors attending an open day for the new Extra Care scheme currently being developed in Alnwick will also be given exclusive access to preview the development’s show apartment before its official opening.
The open day event for the new Weavers’ Court development will be held at the Your Move estate agents branch at 39 Bondgate Within in Alnwick town centre between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, March 19.
Staff from Isos Housing and estate agent Your Move will be on hand to unveil floor plans and answer any questions about the new development. A sales brochure will also be available for people to take away with them.
Visitors who pre-register their interest in the branch on the day, will be given exclusive access to go and view the development’s two-bedroom show apartment between 12pm and 2pm. Anyone wishing to view the apartment should be aware that a temporary access is in place currently, as Weavers’ Court is still under construction.
Due for completion this Spring, Weavers’ Court is a £5 million state-of-the-art Extra Care housing development for people aged 55 and over.
The development, which is located off Weavers’ Way on the south side of Alnwick, will include 58 one and two-bedroom apartments available to buy through shared ownership or to rent from Isos Housing. It will boast a range of shared facilities for residents to enjoy including a convenience shop, communal lounge, restaurant, coffee shop and hair salon.
Extra Care schemes like Weavers’ Court are designed to promote independence in older and vulnerable people, while enabling those with chronic and other health conditions to live in the community, preventing admissions to residential care.
Each of the spacious, modern, one and two bedroom apartments will include a large lounge/diner, kitchen and storage space and some have a private terrace or balcony.
David Curran has just been appointed as scheme manager for the new development and he will be responsible for overseeing the scheme’s day-to-day running, with support available on site if needed. Michael Farr, executive director of development and property at Isos Housing, said:
“At our last open day, over 60 people visited to find out more information about the scheme and to ask questions about the apartments and communal facilities available on site. We have had a constant stream of enquiries over the last few months but noticed an increase in these as the development is nearing completion.
I am also pleased to say that anybody who registers an interest at our open day will be granted exclusive access to view our brand new show apartment which is not officially due to open until late Spring.
The open day is a free event and you don’t need to make an appointment. Just come along to the Your Move branch this Saturday between 10am and 2pm to pick up an information brochure and speak to a member of staff.”
When complete, residents at Weavers’ Court will enjoy fantastic views to the south of Alnwick from the three-storey development, which is being built by Galliford Try Partnerships North.
Under shared ownership, a share in a one or two-bedroom apartment at Weavers’ Court can be purchased on a part buy, part rent basis. Purchasers can buy up to a 75% share in the property and must be aged 55 or over and have a housing or recognised care need.
Prices range from £93,750 for a maximum 75% share in a one-bedroom apartment or £103,125 for the same share of a two-bedroom apartment. Additional service charges will apply.
Anyone interested in buying an apartment, or who would like more information, should come and visit on the open day.
Alternatively, you can visit the sales office at Weavers’ Court between 10.30am and 3.30pm Wednesdays and Fridays, contact Your Move Alnwick at 39 Bondgate Within, on 01665 603 443.
