A new on-site sales office was unveiled this morning for the Weavers’ Court Extra Care development on the south side of Alnwick.
The office, which is located at the entrance of the Weavers’ Way site, includes floor plans, kitchen and bathroom samples and sales literature for anyone interested in buying an apartment at the new development.
The office will be open Wednesdays and Fridays between 10.30am and 3.30pm and staff from the scheme’s developer Isos Housing and estate agent Your Move will be on hand to answer any questions and explain the options for buying one of the apartments.
The £5m state-of-the-art Extra Care development for people aged 55 and over is expected to be completed in Spring 2016.
Buyers have already been quick to reserve their dream homes off-plan at the popular development, which will include 58 one and two-bedroom apartments available to buy through shared ownership or to rent from Isos Housing.
The building will boast a range of shared facilities for residents to enjoy including a convenience shop, communal lounge, restaurant, coffee shop and hair salon.
Michael Farr, Executive Director of Development and Property at Isos Housing, said:
“Construction work at Weavers’ Court is progressing well and we have achieved a number of key milestones in recent weeks before the winter weather sets in. The opening of a sales office is another important step forward for the development and will enable buyers interested in an apartment to find out more information about the scheme and the options available to them.
The office will be open two days during the week and subject to demand, we will consider opening the office one day on a weekend too. Anyone interested in buying an apartment at Weavers’ Court will see the scale of the development when they visit the sales office so please drop in for a cuppa and speak to one of our members of staff for more information.
The next key milestone in the development will be in the New Year when we will be unveiling a fully furnished show flat.”
Extra Care schemes like Weavers’ Court are designed to promote independence in older and vulnerable people, while enabling those with chronic and other health conditions to live in the community, preventing admissions to residential care.
Each of the spacious, modern, one and two bedroom apartments will include a large lounge/diner, kitchen and storage space as well as a private terrace or balcony. A scheme manager, employed by Isos Housing, will oversee the scheme’s day-to-day running, with care provision available on site if needed.
Under shared ownership, a share in a one or two-bedroom apartment at Weavers’ Court can be purchased on a part buy, part rent basis. Purchasers can buy up to a 75% share in the property and must be aged 55 or over and have a housing or recognised care need.
Prices range from £93,750 for a maximum 75% share in a one-bedroom apartment or £103,125 for the same share of a two-bedroom apartment. Additional service charges will apply.
